Shafts are used to support transmission parts and transmit torque or motion. The shaft needs to bear load in work to ensure certain rotation accuracy. The machined surfaces of shaft parts usually include inner and outer cylindrical surfaces, inner and outer conical surfaces, step planes and end planes, as well as threads, splines, keyways and grooves
1. Structure, material and process analysis of shaft parts
1.Function and structure of shaft parts
Shafts are used to support transmission parts and transmit torque or motion. The shaft needs to bear load in work to ensure certain rotation accuracy. 2.Materials and blanks of shaft parts
The materials of shaft parts generally include carbon structural steel and alloy structural steel
The blanks of shaft parts include round bars, forgings and steel castings
3.Processing technology analysis of shaft parts
(1)The common axis is the radial design basis of each rotating surface. The axis of the central hole at both ends of the shaft with high accuracy requirements can be used as the radial machining benchmark; For the shaft and rough machining with low accuracy requirements, the cylindrical surface can be used as the machining benchmark
(2)the machining shall be carried out in the order of rough turning → semi finish turning → finish turning. The shaft with high precision requirements shall be grinded
(3)The processing of spline, keyway and thread on the shaft shall be arranged after turning and before cutting; For the shaft to be quenched, the thread processing shall be placed after surface quenching
(4)When the shaft blank is a forging, normalizing treatment shall be arranged, and important shaft parts shall be subject to multiple heat treatments
Blanks →heattreatment →turning the end of side and drilling the central holes →rough turning→heattreatment→Semi finish turning→milling Keyway→turning thread→quench→Rough grinding→Fine grinding
